With summer coming to an end soon, we are getting ready to head out on a few last minute road trips. The kids are excited about the trips, but I have been a bit apprehensive. The last few trips we have taken, we have had to stop frequently for snack breaks making the trips take much longer than expected. This year, I decided that the kids needed their own snack boxes to keep them fed and mommy happy!
The kids and I headed to Walmart and I let them pick out all the different snacks that they wanted to take with us, then I grabbed a few pencil boxes for a dollar each, some glitter letters and shapes foam stickers and some snack sized Ziploc bags. When we got home, I portioned the snacks out for them and then it was time to get started on the boxes.
Of course, I had to take pictures before we started and well, this happened!!
It’s ok, they are kids of a blogger, they are used to mommy having to take a million and a half pictures for everything I do! Finally, we did get started after I put out my craft mats for the kids because, well…glitter.
Gavin had a blast and didn’t want to stop, but that’s how it usually works with him. If I had let him though, he would have covered every last inch of the box.
Lexi enjoyed this as well because she was able to let out her creative side a little more than usual. Although, I need to remember to get more sticker options next time we do something like this.
Once the kids were done, we filled them with plenty of snacks for our next road trip!
