This is the time of year that always make big plans for extra special, homemade and often complicated meals and snacks for the kids. Not this year…I have learned my lesson. This year, I am sticking with food that I know and trust and the kids love, but it doesn’t mean I can’t make them a little something special to go with them!
Lately, I have been somewhat addicted to peanut butter and decided to make the kids something peanut buttery too and then it hit me, Peanut Butter Cheesecake Dip. We love peanut butter and cream cheese with our breakfasts and snacks, so why not combine the two. And since I had just gotten back from Walmart where I picked up some Quaker Chewy Bars, I knew they would be perfect with the dip. I began experimenting with portions and flavors and finally came up with the perfect combo, and the bonus is that although it is higher in healthy fats, it is low carb, perfect for me!
The kids tried the new dip with their Quaker Chewy Chocolate Chunk Bars and couldn’t stop eating it (I had a hard time not taste testing too much). I then wondered, “what else could I use the dip with?” Life cereal of course! We always have it in the house, every flavor too! My husband likes to combine 2-3 different flavors together to make the ultimate bowl of cereal and the kids are always fighting him for a bowl or two.
