I received The Happy’s Mittens and one Happy’s ball from MomSelect in exchange for my honest review.  All opinions are my own or my family’s.

Let me just say, we as a family love cats, especially kittens, they are adorable and loyal and sweet but the problem is that I am highly allergic soooo… kitties for me.  At least not the living, breathing variety!  Ok, so you know the Zhu Zhu pets?  There was a craze awhile back where EVERY kid HAD to have one?  Well, I am not one to give in to the crazes and have never stood in line for HOURS on end waiting for a ridiculously overpriced toy JUST because my kid wanted them.  In fact, neither of them have ever demanded or begged incessantly for specific toys, they have always been grateful for what they get.  I know, it’s strange but that’s just how they are. Well, we recently got a chance to review a new toy from Cepia, the makers of Zhu Zhu pets called The Happy’s.  Little interactive pets with playtoys and all.  We received Mittens which made us all “Happy” because it looks and acts like a kitten without the severe sinus infection.  As soon as the package arrived, both kids wanted to see what we got, just hoping it was a kitten and were thrilled when they saw Mittens.

So of course, we just HAD to take her out and play.  She came with a little fish toy that simulates a laser pointer and a a fun interactive ball.  It was so much fun playing with Mittens, even hubby had a playful smile as we played with it after the kids went to bed.  I think he misses his old cat from his childhood because he played with Mittens more than I did. The way the toys work is that you turn on Mittens by pressing the MH on her back, which I think stands for Mittens Happy, but I could be wrong and then with the ball, turn it on and she will chase it and push it around on her hind legs.  With the fish toy, you turn it on and she follows it around, wherever you wave it.  Oh and she purrs the whole time, sooo cute.

According to the Cepia website:

They scamper, they pounce and they sit up and beg! The Happy’s are the only line of interactive puppy and kitty special feature plush pets that play, can be trained to perform tricks and make 25+ silly sounds.

The Happy’s love to play keep away or chase their ball in a puppy pile up!

Hold the Happy treat and they’ll come running to show off a trick!

The Happy’s will even dance to their favorite Samba tune, drive a car and ride a skateboard!

Yeah, we are still learning how much Mittens can do, but are having tons of fun in the process.  Now, you know how I said that I am not one to stand in line for ridiculously priced toys?  Well….this cheap mom thinks that the Happy’s are worth it.  Don’t tell Gavin, but I am gonna get a few more for his birthday next month,  I am thinking Chance and Sport and maybe a Speedy Sports Car accessory….Oh wait, they have a playground?  Yeah, that too!  I can’t forget Lexi, I think she would LOVE Bentley and a skateboard.  She may not necessarily be within the regular age bracket for the Happy’s but she sure does have fun with Mittens.

Have you ever stood in line for a toy craze?  Which toy was it?

I have never stood in line for a toy craze but I worked at wal-mart through plenty of them on “Black Friday” back in the 90’s…(YIKES!)
I got lucky and bought a “Tickle Me Elmo” the summer before it became a craze though. The guy who worked in the toy department showed it to me when they came in the very first time because he knew my little sister loved Elmo so I bought it. I had people offering me hundreds of dollars for the stupid thing that Christmas. LOL
I’ve seen lots of people fight in line over the “latest craze”… yeah… As cute as Mittens is (I REALLY WANT ONE hehehehe)… no… you won’t catch me standing in any “craze” line… at least not while I’m still (borderline) sane. 😉
