Much like the rest of the youth of America or heck, the world, Gavin has become quite obsessed with YouTube. Watching funny videos like puppies and babies meeting for the first time, hilarious and gross challenges and or the ones he loves the most, toys and game related videos. He especially loves to watch Lego build videos, somehow watching another person put together a Lego set is entertaining! Ok, I’ll be honest, I enjoy watching some of them with him because I myself LOVE Legos.
After a few weeks of this new obsession, he came to me and said “Mom, I can do that too ya know” and of course I had no clue what he was talking about, but he clarified that he could do videos like that. He said that he really wanted to do videos like that. His sister jumped on the bandwagon too and decided that she too wants to do videos. And then the most shocking thing happened, the man I have spent 19 years with, the man that hates pictures and video of him and refuses to give in told me that he too wanted to do YouTube videos. So we are now, FOR now, a YouTube family (I am starting to do some cooking videos). For how long is yet to be seen, but Gavin is excited.
And this weekend, I made him super happy. We filmed him the other day doing a small Lego build and then created a YouTube channel for him and officially went live yesterday! He sat there yesterday and watched as his video kept getting one more view here and one more view there and shrieked every time he got a new subscriber. Now, some of those subscribers were family members and some of those views were him, refreshing the video, but so far, he is off to a good start.
I can’t believe that my baby boy is growing up so much and it saddens me a little, but I am glad that he has a good head on his shoulders. In case you are wondering what types of videos he wants to do, he plans on the following:
- Toy Reviews
- Lego Builds
- Blind Bag/Boxes and Unboxings
- Challenges (gross food challenges are his favorites)
- Science Experiments
- Arts & Crafts (expect some of his Perler Bead creations)
- Video Games
- Book Reviews
- Anything related to Dinosaurs, he wants to do an educational series where he teaches facts about them
And pretty much anything else he can think of, it will be pretty random, but definitely all him! Lexi still hasn’t figured out what she will do and hubby just knows he wants to do Gaming videos for now. Stay tuned for information on theirs once they start filming! Also, I should have a video up on my channel this week, I will post it here too!
So my request to you, head on over to his new channel, give him a like or subscribe, comment on his video and he will write you back. Make a sweet kids day and encourage him to continue to follow his dream of being a YouTuber!
