I haven’t yet divulged this information on my blog or social channels, but my family and I spent the summer on a journey to move from Arizona to Ohio. Arizona is the only home my children have ever known, and where my husband and I have lived for roughly 25 years. Ohio is actually where my husband grew up and it has always been his home, one of the many reasons we moved here. It has been a long and tedious journey but the destination was well worth it.
My kids are very happy here as the atmosphere is considerably different than Arizona, more relaxed. My daughter especially loves that we are here because she gets to go to a new school for her Senior year. Last semester, we took her out of her old school because the curriculum was just too rigorous for her and she “suffered untold misery until her soul turned black as night”. Her words, not mine. We then enrolled her at an online high school because the local public school was just not an option.
This year, she will be back at public school, but it is one that I am not worried about her attending. One problem with all of this is the fact that she is used to working at her own pace, sleeping in and doing her school work when she wants to. That won’t fly this year and keeping her energized and focused throughout the day will be a difficult task. Normally, any ole granola bar will do the trick, but not lately. Now, the only thing that works to keep her moving is Nature Valley XL Protein Chewy Bars.
There are five flavors to choose from;
- Sweet & Salty Chocolate Nut & Seed
- Sweet & Salty Peanut
- Sweet & Salty Pretzel Peanut & Chocolate
- Mixed Nuts
- Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate (Lexi’s favorite)
If you give her anything peanut butter and/or chocolate, she will be happy, however, these bars satisfy both those cravings. With the 50% larger bars and the addition of protein, they keep hunger at bay longer and give her the energy she needs to conquer her senior year. They are gluten free with no artificial sweeteners, colors or flavors. We found these “precious munchies” as Lexi likes to call them at Walmart on the snack aisle, right next to the other Nature Valley products.
Now we’re ready to tackle a new year together. The family in a new home and Lexi in her final year of high school. Nature Valley XL Protein Chewy Bars are going to give us the energy to make the most of this fresh start and take us where we want to go.
