Ok, it’s time to get real again here on Uncreative Mommy, time to talk about things we wish we never had to. Bladder leakage is the topic today. If you are a mom, you probably know all about it, the pee a little every time you sneeze, laugh, blink? I have known it all too well for the last 14 years and hate every time it happens. But guess what ladies, we aren’t alone, over 65 million Americans experience bladder leakage too. It’s not just the elderly either, 12 million of them are under the age of 35. I never knew that. I guess the stigma keeps us from talking about it. But why should we be embarrassed? It’s perfectly natural and normal.
Depend feels the same way I do, lets talk about it. Depend even wants us to go further than talking. They have started a new movement to encourage people to NOT be ashamed of bladder leakage. It is the #DropYourPants for #underwareness movement. Yes, you heard (read?) me right…..#DropYourPants! Depend will be donate $1, up to $3 million, over the next three years to charities that advance the research, education and awareness of bladder leakage for:
- Every pant drop, photo and video shared Using #Underwareness and #DropYourPants; and
- Every personal video made about what Underwareness means to you that is uploaded to YouTube and tagged #Underwareness and #DropYourPants
Great idea right? And a very worthy cause. Now I know what you are thinking, probably the same thing as I did until a few days ago….”aren’t Depend…DIAPERS?” No they aren’t. I thought the same thing for years, but they are actually briefs that look, fit and feel like real underwear and feature a cloth-like fabric for a sleek, ultra-smooth fit. You can’t tell that someone is wearing them unless they tell you. I will never think of Depend the same anymore, will you?
